The book deals with the multilevel (international, regional and domestic) regulation of air transport and can be divided into two main parts: the first one focuses specifically on some recent developments and legislative initiatives undertaken in different fora with regard to significant “micro–sectors” of aviation, within an ongoing process of re–regulation of aviation through competition laws; the second one shows that there is a need for a stronger framework to promote competition and enhance international cooperation in the air transport field. In this regard, among different possible regulatory options identified, a proposal for a global competition network has been put forward in the last part of the book.
