Abstract

The mutable combination between both urban transformation processes and rooting processes within stratified local territories characterizes the whole settlement structure in Italy. An alternation into which both marginality and risk take part in. A structure, then, into which phenomena of abandonment and decommissioning alternate to the development ones. The risk, therefore, can be a powerful accelerator of those fragilities, on one hand, as well as of the building and planning season. The theoretical discussions on that topic find a possible field of verifying in L’Aquila city, where the spatial project has been overpassed by a multidisciplinary approach aimed at social stability and cohesion. On the other hand, digital technological instances still do not find a substantial efficiency in the spatial and functional organization within the city.
