The protection of the built environment against intensive ground vibrations associated with high speed of modern trains is nodal point in the plans of Italian High Speed Railway Companies. To evaluate the relevance of the mechanical vibrations transmitted, tests are been ordered for sections under construction. This paper presents a methodology to determine the signals to be applied in fixe positions of the embankment to measure their capability to transmit in the soil the action of moving loads due to the train axles. We assume that vertical load is transmitted on the ground in correspondence of sleepers and so we can calculate the forces, starting to deflection curve of the track obtained by using the beam model. By analytical procedure, we determine the time histories which must be applied to simulate the action due to the moving load. The signals, calculated in correspondence to different train speeds and frequencies of moving loads, can be generated by suitable devices.
