Rigenerazione urbana e integrazione socio-territoriale

Urban regeneration represents a strategy of socio-territorial integration of the most marginal areas where, often, the oldest abandoned industrial sites are located, which represent a threat to the health of citizens, as well as to the landscape and the environment. However, with a change of perspective, these sites could be transformed into a potential resource for the revitalization of the territory. An example of regeneration of abandoned industrial buildings is the redevelopment project of the former industrial area and abandoned production sites included in the Integrated Program “Print VII a2 Tor Tre Teste” of the Municipality V of the Metropolitan City of Rome. A project that must be inserted in a complex urban context, strongly marked by alarming data on land consumption and the number of abandoned industrial areas, but which could represent an opportunity for territorial and social integration of an area still considered peripheral.
